Glowing Skin

A lot of people want to know, "How do I get that glow on my face naturally?" That natural glow sometimes get lost throughout the stressful times, cramming for finals, or lack of sleep and proper nutrition. So, how do we try and get that glow back?! All it calls for is a few simple steps.

1. Put some water on your face! Splash your skin with water at warm/hot temperature (not too hot!). Warm water naturally opens the pores on the skin and helps them release dirt and oils, and helps brings blood to the surface. After the pores have been opened, finish it off with cold water. The hot water helps oxygenate the blood and flush the skin. Cold water helps to close the pores, keeping you clean and glowing.

2. Exfoliate people! So many people forget to exfoliate and that is SO essential for your skin to maintain a healthy look and glow! Exfoliating rids your skin of the dead skin cells that are layering on your face that can make your skin look dull. Once you remove those dead skin cells, your face is refreshed, soft, and glowing. I prefer natural exfoliators, like brown sugar or baking soda. Remember not to scrub too hard! Just gentle, circular motions.

3. DRINK WATER. Sounds like such a repeated, over-killed saying, but it is so true! Your body craves water, especially your skin's complexion. Drinking the necessary amount of water each day flushes your body of toxins, and hydrates your skin to make it more plump and glowing. So drink, drink, drink. Avoid sugary drinks- stay pure.

4. Exercise. You will all probably hate me for saying this because exercising is no fun. Personally, I do not like to exercise. It is such a drag to get myself to the gym and run for 30 minutes while staring at a wall. BUT, in spite of the negativity, exercising gets the heart rate going and pumps the blood faster throughout your body. As blood becomes oxygenated, it increases the circulation throughout your body, including to the skin. Whenever I finish exercising, I always notice a glow on my cheeks and I want it to stay forever!

Just a few simple tips to get your skin on the glow train. In addition to these helpful tips, always remember that inner happiness causes a beautiful glow on your face as well. I would count on that the most. :)

Glow on,
Daniela
